Idea-to-code agent · text only

Describe the site.
Ellie writes the code.

One sentence in, a working website out. Ellie plans the page, then writes the HTML, CSS and JavaScript herself — file by file, with a live preview and a zip you can actually ship. Ask for a full-stack app and she writes the Worker, the D1 schema and the accounts too.

How it works

An agent loop, not a suggestion box

Ellie keeps the plan, the files and the request in view at the same time, so a follow-up edit knows exactly what it is editing.

01

She plans before she writes

Your sentence becomes a page plan — who it is for, which sections, what the typography should feel like, which files will exist. You watch the plan arrive, word by word.

02

She writes in dependency order

The HTML first, then the stylesheet that matches it, then the small amount of JavaScript the page actually needs. Each file sees the one before it, so class names line up.

03

You ask for changes in plain words

"Make the header sticky." "Add a pricing table." "Tighten the hero." She returns only the files that changed, with an addition and deletion count you can sanity-check.

04

You leave with the files

Preview is sandboxed, so a generated page can never touch your session. Export is a plain zip of static files — no lock-in, no build step, no dependencies.

What she writes

Vanilla by default, on purpose

A site that opens by double-clicking index.html will still work in ten years. That constraint keeps the output small and the review honest.

</>

Semantic HTML

Real headings, real landmarks, real copy for the product you described. No lorem ipsum, no "Company Name".

#

Hand-written CSS

Design tokens in :root, fluid type with clamp(), focus-visible states, and two breakpoints that actually behave.

JS

Only the JavaScript needed

Mobile navigation, active section tracking, form checks. No framework runtime shipped to the visitor.

0

Zero external requests

No CDN fonts, no stock photos, no analytics, no trackers. Imagery is gradients and inline SVG, so the page loads instantly.

⛁

A real back end, when you ask

Full-stack mode writes a Cloudflare Worker, a D1 migration with foreign keys and indexes, PBKDF2 password hashing, and HttpOnly session cookies — plus the wrangler.jsonc that deploys it to your own account.

A real build

This started as one sentence

Below is a site Ellie actually wrote, from: “A booking site for a two-chair barber shop in Wichita called Fade and Fold. Warm cream and clay palette, calm and a bit editorial.” Three files, 11.6 KB, three breakpoints, no dependencies — served exactly as she wrote it.

Questions

Straight answers

Is there a voice mode?

No. EllieCode is text only — typed requests, written code. There is no microphone button, no speech input, no spoken replies, and the site asks the browser for no media permissions at all.

Do I need an account?

No. Your first build starts typing. Projects are tied to a private cookie in this browser so you can come back to them; nothing else is asked for. Paid plans will add real accounts, and exporting the zip will always work without one.

What exactly do I get?

In static mode: an index.html, a styles.css, a script.js and a preview URL. In full-stack mode: that front end in public/, a src/worker.js back end, a migrations/0001_init.sql schema, a wrangler.jsonc and a README with the exact commands. Either way the zip is yours to keep.

Does she really write a back end?

Yes, if you pick full-stack mode. She writes one Cloudflare Worker with hand-rolled routing, a D1 schema, PBKDF2 password hashing through crypto.subtle, HttpOnly session cookies, and queries scoped to the signed-in user. Every generated script is checked for workerd-incompatible code before it is saved, and one repair pass runs if a check fails.

Which model writes the code?

Ellie runs on Cloudflare Workers AI: Qwen2.5-Coder for the files and Llama 3.3 for planning. Nothing runs on your laptop, and no request leaves Cloudflare to write your site.

Can she work on the files already on my computer?

Yes, through your browser's own folder picker — nothing is installed and nothing is scanned in the background. You choose one folder, Ellie reads the HTML, CSS, JS and text files in it, and those files travel with your next message only. When she has written an update you press Write to folder and she writes into that same folder, replacing only the files you just reviewed. Revoke access by closing the tab or clearing site permissions.

Can she see the browser I am using?

Only a page you hand her. Paste a URL and she reads that public page — its title, headings and text — and nothing else. There is no extension, no history access, no cookie or tab access, and no reading of pages you did not name. Reference pages go to your next build only and are not stored on the server or shared with anyone.

Can she break my existing site?

She only ever touches the project you opened. Edits are returned as whole files with an addition and deletion count, and a rewrite that comes back suspiciously short is refused rather than saved.

Who owns the code she writes?

You do. There is no licence key in the output, no attribution requirement and no phone-home script.

Give Ellie an idea worth an hour.

She will spend about a minute turning it into something you can open.
